Oh, to sleep!

Being home is nice, but of course there is one thing after another that needs to be done. I am attempting, and currently failing, at trying to tie up all the loose ends. Instead it is more fun to watch Dr. Phil, go the gym, eat left over Christmas goodies and hang out with my friends who I have dearly missed. I am trying to catch up on my music too. According to Nas "Hip-hop is dead" so I guess I haven't missed that much. At OWU, you are able to listen to other people's music who are on the network via itunes. Looking forward to that. However, I do not even know where I am living yet, Residential Life needs to figure that out and being a junior with senior status, it better turn out for the best. Until then, I will be studying for the GRE, finishing internship applications, and cleaning up my room. Yeah, right.

Here are a few pictures from Christmas celebration in D.C.

Trying to Catch Up! (on my blog posts and my sleep)

Since coming back from Spain all I have wanted to do is catch up on my z's. That hasn't really happened, has it. Two days after I came back from Spain, I went back to good old Ohio Wesleyan to see friends and my boyfriend. Straight from Ohio, I flew to Washington, D.C. where almost everyone else in my family lives. It was nice to see family I otherwise don't normally get to see e.g. my other siblings and my grandmother. Now, I am finally home trying to relax and see even more friends. I am also trying to catch up on new DVD releases such as Mystery Science Theatre and Grey's Anatomy, don't hold your breath, it is just my friends trying to peer pressure me in to liking that show, the only thing good about it is Patrick Dempsey. I thought this post would be a good one to share a few pictures of my family and friends.
This first picture is one of the entire group who traveled to Spain (minus two who were in the restroom at the time, in all 20 students from OWU).
The second picture is my mother and I in Spain, unclear where but apparently it was drizzling.
My family last summer at Elmhust College (another great school!) in Chicago for my older, more mature sister's college graduation.
And last, but not least, is a picture of my sorority little sister and I, my favorite Jersey girl, Jessica Kleinman.

As soon as I upload pictures from Christmas with my family, I will make sure to post.
Have a safe and happy New Year! (if you celebrate it on the 31st of December)

Hasta Luego Spain, Hello U.S. of A

Writing in english is something that hasn't happened in 3 1/2 months! I just came back to the good old United States on Wednesdsay and reverse-culture shock is even harder, but having a McDonald's breakfast sandwich made coming back that much better.
Spending a semester abroad in a foreign country, especially in a country with a different language, was the hardest thing I have ever done but by far the most rewarding. It was very hard at first to get adjusted to school and living with a family but it soon just becomes a way of life. Not only did I gain language and independence, but life experience that I could have never gotten at any university. I am ready to get back in to the swing of things here in the U.S. I am hoping I can go back to Salamanca really soon.
I uploaded some of my favorite pictures. The first one is of the Plaza Mayor, the center of the city. Manolo, one of our great professors, and I at our final dinner. La Sagrada familia in Barcelona. The train station in Portugal. The outside of the Reina Sofia art museum.
